Suunto Training Manager
Suunto Training Manager software offers an exciting new tool for viewing recorded data for all sports enthusiasts. It is designed to enhance the functionality of your Suunto t6 by providing you with a means of transferring data to your PC where it can be analyzed in more detail. The heart rate analysis of the software is based on the calculation model developed by Firstbeat Technologies Ltd. The analysis results offer a deeper understanding how the training effects your body. They also allow you to analyze the relationship between altitude and the seven body parameters.
When you have transferred the data, you can easily view and organize it, design training programs and sessions, and add them in the calendar. The calender also allows you to view over a longer period of time how effective your training has been and is there enough variation to improve your fitness level and avoid overtraining.
Suunto Training Manager also allows you to upload your information to Suunto's online cross sports community at suuntosports.com where you can exchange logs, training programs, plans and experiences with like-minded enthusiasts from around the world.
Suunto Training Manager Features
Training analysis
Suunto Training Manager measures up to seven body parameters from your training
session:
Heart rate
EPOC*
Training effect (EPOC related to personal capacity)
Ventilation volume
Respiratory rate
Oxygen consumption (VO2)
Energy consumption
Other performance graphs include:
Altitude
Speed (with additional wireless speed and distance sensor)
*EPOC - What is EPOC?
EPOC stands for Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption. EPOC indicates the amount of oxygen your body needs for recovery after exercise.
Due to the physiological training load caused by the exercise, your body consumes more oxygen after exercise than during rest. The more strenuous the exercise, the higher the extra consumption of oxygen is and the more your body's homeostasis (natural balance) is disturbed.
So far EPOC has only been utilised in exercise physiology research, because it was only possible to measure it under laboratory conditions. The Suunto T6 is the first device that allows non-invasive prediction of EPOC during exercise, which in turn makes it possible to monitor the exercise load and the training effect making sure you are always training at the correct level and intensity (see fig's 1,2 and 3). The Suunto Training manager also allows you to 'pre-plan' your workout using the EPOC calculator ensuring that you to reach your desired workout level (see fig. 4)
Training statistics
Suunto Training Manager enables you to manage your training logs and training
plans:
